Mayor de Blasio gives retired firefighter with renal cancer, a dedicated Zadroga Act crusader, the key to the city

Mike Barasch, the attorney for the Zadroga family as well as thousands of other sick 9/11 first responders, was delighted that the Major bestowed the Key to the City to Ray Pfeiffer.  “No one deserves this honor more than Ray”, said Barasch.   “I was lucky to meet him during several of the trips we made to D.C.  We were lobbying Congress to extend the Zadroga Health and Compensation Act.  No matter how sick and awful Ray obviously felt, he displayed remarkable courage by going on nearly every trip.  The image of Ray in a wheel chair spoke volumes to the lawmakers who we were trying to convince.  I am so happy for him.”
