Interview with Richie Alles on podcast Generation: 9/11

January 30, 2020 | Michael Barasch

Tune in to hear Ret. FDNY Deputy Chief Richard Alles join podcast host Brian Kirsch of 40lexstudios as they launch the first episode of a new podcast titled ‘Generation: 9/11.’ The podcast was created to share stories of those who were affected by their exposure to the toxic dust from 9/11 and the months that followed. 425,000 people were exposed to the 9/11 toxic air. It is crucial to spread the word about the two federal programs available to help those who are eligible: the World Trade Center Health Program (free health care) and the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund (significant compensation).

Richie responded to 9/11 just 20 minutes after the second building collapsed. In the podcast he details his memory of that horrific day and the devastating health conditions it has led to for so many people who were in the exposure zone, including himself.

Today, Richie is the Director of 9/11 Community Affairs at Barasch & McGarry and has dedicated the rest of his professional career to educate people about the Victim Compensation Fund and the free nationwide health care available. “I am delighted that I can continue advocating for the thousands of first responders, union workers, volunteers, and survivors who are now sick as a result of their exposure to the toxic dust at Ground Zero,” he says.

Take a listen, share, and help us continue to spread this important message. [https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/generation-9-11/id1496214602?ign-mpt=uo%3D4]
