Frank L. Shares His Story for ‘No 9/11 Voice Lost, No 9/11 Voice Unheard’

November 10, 2020 | Michael Barasch

Our client Frank L. shares his 9/11 story with us: “I was 58 years old and a member of the New York Stock Exchange when the 9/11 attacks occurred. I had a seat on the stock exchange and worked there until I retired at the age of 62. Going through this tragic event 19 years ago impacted my life tremendously. I have COPD, emphysema, GERD, PTSD, and a very bad fear of heights and even driving the car. I don’t like to be around a lot of people because I lost a lot of my friends who worked on the same floor as me. I never thought that all these problems were from 9/11 until I spoke to a psychiatrist and started to see doctors.

After I got involved with a law firm, I was put into contact with the right people. They walked me through the process, put me in contact with the right people, and helped me through it all. The World Trade Center Health Program sent me to doctors who then diagnosed me with those four illnesses. One piece of advice I would give to my peers who were also victims of 9/11 is to work with attorneys you trust.”
