Senate Passes The Honoring Our PACT Act To Help Veterans Exposed To Burn Pits During Military Service

June 30, 2022 | Michael Barasch

The nearly $300 billion bill will provide health care and disability benefits to up to 3.5 million veterans suffering from toxic exposure to burn pits. Many have developed cancers and respiratory illnesses from their exposure—similar to those in the 9/11 community.

A big thank you to John Feal (pictured) and the FealGood Foundation for their countless trips to D.C., demanding the passage of this bill. And of course, we would remiss if we failed to acknowledge the role played by Jon Stewart. His advocacy helped shine a spotlight on this issue.
