After sustaining two serious illnesses related to toxic exposures, I finally decided to contact Barasch & McGarry in February, 2020. In doing so, it was my good fortune to have Leah Betso assigned as my Case Manager.
Although I must admit, at times I found understanding the time lines for the claim process difficult to connect, Ms. Betso was extremely responsive, knowledgeable and patient whenever I needed any additional details or explanations. Her calming reassurances also always left me confident that my claim would have a favorable outcome, which it did earlier this month.
The most difficult thing for me was having to re-visit my experience at the WTC. Having lost family, friends and co-workers resulting from the attacks or subsequent illnesses, I had no desire to ever go back, either physically or mentally. That being said, I can honestly say that without Ms. Betso’s assistance, I may have abandoned this entirely.
