Biography
Mark J. Cafiero is an Associate Attorney in Barasch & McGarry’s 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund Practice, where he advocates for individuals and families affected by the September 11th tragedy.
Raised in Westfield, New Jersey, Mark developed an early interest in history and writing, which led him to the high school newspaper and the Model United Nations team. At The Ohio State University, he studied Public Affairs at the John Glenn School while serving as a Senate Page at the Ohio Statehouse.
After graduation, Mark spent two years as an Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator for a local grant-funded organization, helping individuals enroll in health care plans under the Affordable Care Act. In 2017, he began his legal studies at St. John’s University School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor in 2020. He joined Barasch & McGarry the following year and has continued to represent 9/11 survivors and families since.
